Black Fragility 101 folks, take notes.
nostr:npub14gg2f7al7ef9ehju3sgpzk440jlu4vk4d49mt6eedk2kdgm96q2sak79df Didn't see this on your feed so not sure if you've already seen it or not.
Oh yeah this one was a tear jerker. I'm surprised it made it into international news. what a damn cutie

"A college's freedom to decide how to build a diverse student body" is a lot of words for saying "we legalized discrimination".
IDK if my first draft actually deleted for everyone (nostr is weird) but here's the fixed version.

I really like primal but it's kinda buggy for me when it comes to actually posting lol. When it comes to just viewing things and notifications it is the best.
Why the hell is the linux/tech community full of:
- gay rights activists
- autists
- furries
- fringe hardcore right
- communists
- pedos
What is it that draws the rejects of society into this shit?
For some reason iris doesn't show em. I also clicked so fast I didn't even read the url LOL. Not gonna lie I click a lot links and ads that look remotely interesting or funny without a second thought.

Things are HEATING UP in Chiraq! (the hood is on fire, they will not get support from the local municipalities)
I gave kind of a mixed message here. It's good that she's in a sanctuary and not another pet to be abandoned or killed elsewhere. It's not good that her mother was murdered for this to happen (almost every rescued child chimp means a dead mother) and given that she's been in the sanctuary for 20 years, chances are she's not going back to the wild. It means she'll probably never know freedom, which is the real crime that selfish people inflict daily because "lol le monke pet".
The pet trade is just one of the many reasons why chimps are endangered. Personally it makes me the most mad due to how ignorant and selfish the entire trade & practice is.
Chimpanzee Leilah 20 years ago on the left, and today on the right. She's lived at the sanctuary since 2001, where she was confiscated (probably rescued from becoming a pet) in the port city of Douala. She's 25 years old now, and given that many chimps in captivity live beyond 40, she's got many more years ahead of living the good life in her sanctuary setting.
Ideally we wouldn't need sanctuaries, but many of the chimps that live in them can never be released to the wild again. For the ones that can be released, it can take years, even decades in some cases, to get them back to being ready to go back to the jungle. This is due to both the mental wellbeing of the animals, and their physical safety. Releasing chimps back into the wild is fraught with multiple dangers. The bit two being poachers, and other chimps.
Due to this, every re-release has to be carefully coordinated. This means chimps that were raised as pets for years that have been socialized with humans will likely never see the wild again. If they ran into another troop, they would probably be murdered on sight for being a stranger who can't communicate with other chimps. Also, their survival skills will be impacted severely, since they aren't used to naturally foraging.
Simply put, every pet chimpanzee is another psychologically damaged great ape that will be sentenced to a life of constant care around the clock. And most people who have pet chimps give them up after a few years and won't help out whoever ends up caring for them. Leilah escaped a fate that would have led to her losing the very essence of who she is. I can only hope that she gets back to the forests before passing.

I've heard about the robot lawnmower but never seen it in action. How does it hold up??
Any of you internet weirdos ever mess with gardening automation? I really want to get into growing my own food, and it would give me an excuse to nerd out and set up sensors and programs to automate a lot of it.
Please Taylor Swift make the madness stop #EndInflation
That must be why so many of them practically worship moderating as a holy act lol.
Up from 60 something at the time of the instance going down. These mf's are wild they just import mass blocklists. Not even looking if a site exists or not. I'm pretty sure I got added to a mass blocklist when I was shit talking Stux about rolling coal and called him a baby bitch. #OpenNet

>join a free and open protocol
>it has free and open speech
Shocker. Than god they can blanket ban you for thousands of users at once to protect their hecking eyes!
1990s: The future is gonna be so based the internet will change our lives forever.
Present day: AI bots trying to scam me on every post, I don't know if I'm talking to a bot or shill most days, everything is censored except the fringes of the net. Which is under constant attack.

Had a dream last night where all of Gerudo Town in Breath of the Wild was a dungeon where every doorway transported you to another random one (like that multiplayer map Rat Maze in Halo). Also I was actually there. Honestly nightmare level shit, I hate maps like that in games.
I love collecting music but seriously, who the hell would buy *just* the box of a box set?
