The only thing missing from this video is the Roadrunner.

I use both the onX hunting and off-road apps. They each have strengths and weaknesses. The off-road app is good for showing roads on public lands such as national forests. The hunting app is good for showing foot trails and private land boundaries. Don't want to get arrested for trespassing :-)

Also, if they are interested in electronics you might want to look at the Raspberry Pi single board computer to do little hands-on projects.
