Last night I worked for the fiatjob till quite late.πŸ§‘β€πŸ’» Result: I have no inspiration (yet) for my day today πŸ˜…

Nothing 2 β˜• coffees β˜• can't solve πŸ™‚

Found some quince seeds yesterday. Its a tree that does well here, so I will try to plant them today, just like I planted those apple seeds yesterday. 🌱🌳

Didn't get to earthworks yesterday, been looking at a broken rotovator, which I use to break up the dirt before moving it. Also need to do maintenance on the tractor if I am gonna keep pushing it hard as I've been doing. 🚜

1 step forward 3 steps back it feels, but I try not to get sad or frustrated about the slow going. Which means, I need to work on me not getting frustrated, I feel deep down I am. πŸ§‘β€πŸŒΎπŸ§˜

Planted around 2000 apple seeds. Took some time to use a knife and make many tiny holes and dropping some seeds in, threw some, ruffled some under the little mulch there is, in the moist soft spots.

Some will sprout and some will survive. They will not get any irrigation. The survivers will show what works.

#proofofwork #farmstr #gardening #plantingtrees #reforestation

yeah integrate all the things!! not sure how that would work though πŸ˜… but who knows it might be possible. It would be cool to get zapped on a farmOS seeding or harvesting log 🀯

Another day to get things done!

Yesterday I managed to plant 2 olive trees, the Manzanita variety which produces big eating olives. Gave them some pigeon and chicken manure, compost, worm tea and compost. I will go back and add mulch around the trees, just did not have the time.

Now they will have to fend for themselves. They did not have a big root mass yet, we will see if they survive. πŸ€žπŸ«’

Today will be mostly chopping wood and work for fiat. After that I will plant a couple of 100 apple seeds. I hope to get a couple of hours done on earthworks or restoring the old house.

Its funny to see that when you have meaningful things to do like planting trees and restoring a house, how little yiu want to work on fiat jobs. Its my biggest struggle, not to walk away from the fiat world entirely, I have to remind myself everyday that I dont yet have the systems in place to do that. Not yet... but everyday a step closer.

I read many people advocating this or that diet, and pointing to unsustainable industrial agriculture practices to prove their points...

Having embarked on the #regenerativeagriculture and #permaculture voyage, I learned so much about all this.

Lets not confuse the levels, the map is not the territory...

For example: Many vegetarians/vegans point to animal suffering to convince people not to eat meat... but its the farming technique which is at fault, not the eating of meat.

Many of these people never grew 1/10th of their own food, which would teach them that:

just like energy cant be created nor destroyed, life on this planet kills in order to survive. Try growing vegetables without displacing or killing plants or animals... you are in a sense always killing something.

Also it teaches you that upscaling, centralizing, going after money gains, industralizing, etc. makes no sense and pollutes usually.

Its almost "racist" to only care about animal deaths, plants are entities too, they like to survive too. Soil itself is alive too. And what about the forests? And what about grains? They seem to account for most of patriarchy, sedentary humans, war, haves an have nots, etc...

Go out there and grow your own food, whatever it is you like eating, and try doing it regeneratively. Let nature show you what works and what doesnt.

I feel like Im not explaining myself well, but hey, am not fully awake yet. #coffeechain β˜•

Am not a food opinionator really, but it bugs me today.

Bill Mollison said: "if you can chomp it, chomp it" and "never sell anything from your farm that cant walk, swim or fly off it" (else you deplete your land)

He also created #permaculture

The world can be healed and saved by gardeners.

Yesterday I did manage to do 3 hours of earthworks, but forgot to take pictures, so no #proofofwork πŸ˜…

Might report later if there's interest in it.

Today we have morning fog, so mysterious. I love fog, it temporarily erases our existence kind off, living in a silent fog bubble, a strange gray world where you can't see far.

I did not start tracking foggy days yet in farmOS, but should, as it is a percipitation event in this dry climate, everything is super wet.

Maybe I can get some more earthworks in today πŸ€”

It felt quite powerful, every move made it so more water can be stored and less runoff will occur, for the next who knows how many years 🀯

When this part is finished seeds can be sown and then the long wait fir a rain event begins...

100s of hours of thinking 3 hours of work years of water infiltration.

Do your earthworks first!

Yeah, I was looking for a plant tracking app for a long time, was so happy to discover this project.

It amazingly covers all my specific needs for tracking plants and so much more.

They have ways of connecting other sensors and devices to it bit havent had the time to play with it yet.
