Your diversity as a first-generation whatever is only useful as a means to establish status. Your Ivy League, Google working, investor backing background is mostly in pursuit of status.
Does it mean it can’t also measure merit, competence or extraordinary effort? Sure, but status and the acceleration of status comes first.
Many Latino folks working their generation corporate jobs eventually come across disillusionment climbing the corporate ladder.
The corporate machine is a game of status, not a game over diversity nor a game of merit. It’s status.
Better to be loved and understood by few than liked by many.
Damn this technology is something else.

The more you try to escape hell the more it grows in size
The data reflecting cultural attitude toward education is pretty staggering across the board.

It’s pretty apparent to me that rejecting DEI initiatives and affirmative action is pretty bad policy.
Making education a winner-takes-all system promotes competition but endorses instability.
I suppose it makes sense. Latinos value education a lot culturally and spiritually, but not competitively.
