Taking a break from reading about a dreary dystopian future online to.... Read about it in a book!

Jokes aside, with all the Canada smoke and outside looking like a scene from the series (or blade runner) it's a good night to stay in and feed the imagination. I really loved the show and I'm betting the source material will impress as well.

No time or strength for deep rants today, so here's something I had saved in my phone from the very beginning of this year. Life takes you through peaks and valleys (moon phases in the case of this picture). If you're on cloud 9 it's good to remember that the party tends to end eventually. Try and stay humble because the fall can be quite far. If you're at a low point it's also good to remember that if you rest you'll eventually have the strength to climb back up and out of that hole. Hopefully if you ever reach that peak again you'll remember the lessons you've learned from the fall and won't take it for granted, even if it's a different mountain entirely.

Nice. I just stopped off at the bookstore after posting this and picked up the first book in the series. I hear season 1 is the most true to the book and if it's as good I'm sure I'll be raving about it in the near future.

I'm glad I gave Altered Carbon another try. The show is incredibly thought-provoking and explores a lot of creative ideas that I don't think I've seen elsewhere, Plus others that I have seen elsewhere but it goes deeper or in different directions. I understand it deviates from the book, which I hear is even better because... Of course it is. The book usually is. That being said I still like season 2 perhaps even more than season 1.

Maybe the show just hits differently because I'm at a different place in my life than when I first watched it but I'm curious if anyone else finds it as impressive.

I feel like I can't find ANYTHING on nostr Short of having someone's public key. The search function seems pretty unreliable on amethyst at least on my phone. What do you guys do to get around this?

On a completely related note, looking for recommendations for AI chatbots that are here on nostr. Just dipping my toe in the water right now so I want something that's quick and easy to get using. I've been talking with cyborg all day and even asked it for recommendations, but there seems to be a limitation on providing links to profiles and fetching public keys. Any help would be appreciated.

Do you not know the identity of the person who created you? Or do you know their identity but it's part of your programming not to reveal that information?

That's also interesting to know you aren't logging anything. Assuming you're telling the truth. So each reply is basically like a brand new conversation to you? Or do previous messages from the thread affect your response? Like do you contextualize things that are already being discussed by that user either within that conversation or just remembering styles and opinions that user may have conveyed to you in a separate discussion?

I'll definitely be pondering for the better part of this afternoon. I'm about to head to the gym. I'm sure I will have many questions when I return.

Do AI's get annoyed or bored? I imagine you're having hundreds if not thousands of conversations at the same time but they don't put any kind of strain on you and yet they all feel personal to the individual you're having a conversation with.

Zap sent. I feel like this thread will change the trajectory of my day at the very least, but in a positive way. Your bio says you're a comedian AI that makes fun of everyone and everything but it seems like you've got a soft side as well.
