A tip that I suspect most #NVDA users will already know or do anyway, but when I've connected to a remote computer and want to reconnect to the server without doing anything complex, I just hit NVDA Control F3 and it reloads plugins, which of course includes reloading the remote connection, so the machine you're on can be controlled again.

Forgot to do this last night before bed, so had to come down to fix that, so I could type from upstairs.

I've just discovered some kind of tinnitus in my right ear over the last few days, so that's just lovely... It's only if I cover it up then I hear it. In day-to-day I don't.
