I hope all the political clowns have left before GA opens tomorrow.
Birds nest fungus

Bumble Bees poke themself into these flower’s Bee-holes. Do you call them beardtongue or penstemon?

Multiple Asclepias viridis flowering simultaneously could mean seed pods in the future. However, pollination is done mechanically with insects doing the complicated task. Fortunate for us that the penstemon is nearby to attract the bumble bee!

Primrose at night

If the primrose blooms at night. Then I must visit the primrose at night. Them’s the rules.

Picking strawberries at night an eating them in the morning. In this way I stay a day ahead of the birds. I could get used to this schedule.

Redring milkweed. Could it have potential for greatness?

16 feet in a 6 foot bed

Very few people speak for the trees but the trees always speak to us. You know what’s right.
Brassica is a genus of plants in the mustard family. It includes many commonly eaten vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, kale, and turnips.
Brassica’s (Brassicaceae) host the caterpillars of the white butterflies (Pieris).
In early May I found a cabbage white butterfly egg on the broccoli leaf. I hadn’t look closely at the kale but it has a caterpillar as well.

Hall’s milkweed seedlings continue to grow. I’m a little concerned for how they will harden off when I take them outside. To distract me I’ll just start more milkweed from seed.

Won’t be long and the Catterpillar will enter the chrysalis stage of its life before becoming a cabbage white butterfly.

Wifey has an application in at a nearby school. We scoped it out and confirmed there is milkweed on-site!

This is good luck in Where the Red Fern Grows. I’ll share the luck with you!

Waiting all afternoon for the bird to arrive on scene.
