One thing we can do to help our friends and family prepare to weather an era of far-right autocrats is to help them start using end-to-end encrypted messaging tools like Matrix and Signal.

I know many of us don't enjoy the role of being our family's tech support...

Disappointed but not surprised to see it coming from someone who works at MongoDB.

I'll never forget how much of my/our time Mongo and its investors wasted while I was in leadership at OSI, nor will I forget how they tried to co-opt the plight of the maintainer to add a patina of legitimacy to their naked rhetoric and cash grab.

Thank goodness for the continued vigilance of people and organizations of good will.
