I put plenty of all these in the "they" category. If they want to use the state and state violence for their ends, they're a they.
Sir, trips to where π
I've said this before and I'll say again for bringing new people or suggesting nostr. Just send them one of the slick apps and send it to them. It sets up like any other app. Let them get curious and ask about more features, clients, zaps ect. Leave under the hood talk for later.
Hes always been cool and an art patron #freeralf

I'm grateful for the discussion between nostr:npub12262qa4uhw7u8gdwlgmntqtv7aye8vdcmvszkqwgs0zchel6mz7s6cgrkj and nostr:npub16c0nh3dnadzqpm76uctf5hqhe2lny344zsmpm6feee9p5rdxaa9q586nvr
It brings to light items of discussion that bring us greater consciousness for us as a community.
Even though some ad hominem mud throwing is to be expected, the details discussed are valuable points and understanding what choices clients will make and why is going to be key for your own personal or professional preference.
Try read all of the notes without any immediate judging.
Difficult discussions are necessary and will continue. Because freedom is responsibility. There's no board or ceo to make decisions for us.
The cloud reinstall worked π
Never again. π¨ first from now on.

3 hours into checking every drive and update and troubleshooting and disconnecting and reconnecting all hardware - my son and I give in to reinstalling windows. I have little hope the will help. Next I hit it with a hammer and do a rain dance. π€π₯
Everyone wants to be safe. Some don't want to think about or put effort into their own safety and end up neither free nor safe. Freedom requires you and your community to maintain safety and have access to the tools to do it. A useless police force arbitrarily enforcing rules set by a central government vs you and your community fully armed and removing problems and protecting yourselves.
It's all well and good if people want to live under an increasingly large boot and then play pretend online like a freedom video game for escapism. As long as they're honest with themselves about it. But if you want to live in a free world, it requires the responsibility of maintaining one. It's exhausting, yes! Yes it is. Freedom is work, that's why so many don't even want it.
I've spend many years in the "liberty space" freedom, libertarian, anarchist etc. Day one stuff is yay freedom, yay for sharing ideas openly and open commerce. Many stay in day one forever, in their head because day one doesnt manifest into reality. Day two is maintain freedom and maintain societal order. It's hard, it's complicated, it's contentious. Day two and beyond is building the world you want. A free world for you and your loved ones. #freedom #nostr

Why tell good actors that bring value to go make their own space instead of telling abusive psychopaths to go make their own space? Society is civil because there are social norms and enforcement. This is the same discussion I've had for years with libertarians and anarchists (I'm ancap). You don't need oppressive rules or central police, but you need some social norms and ways to enforce them.
