But never mind, the point is that the signal to noise ratio is too low for me in that social network of yours.

I'll keep checking in the hope things change, but my past experience tells me that once a social net takes a certain flavour it's probably going to double down on it. (Continues)

The challenge now is to build bridges.

I really, really want to like #nostr, the tech is interesting. But every time I open my client every other post reeks of cryptobro anarcoliberism and toxic masculinity and I. Just. Can't.

nostr:npub1967p6txpdl9s04tjvnl0lwmrluz2hdafz9shwrduewk7fkr4cujssqmndj I’m more interested right now in simply raising awareness that there is significant research on the subject.

But a glaring example: almost all fediverse instances are operated by what’s essentially autocrats: server admins. Only in very few (like social.coop where I am) do the governed have a say in the rule making.

nostr:npub1u27r9h3j9pvrplaffsmpn698e8xhmuqhdgcxldv67ammql9pumnqha3qfq It's a good point, most admins are quite democratic but they are, in the end, benevolent autocrats.

You should consider writing a longer post about how one could apply the principles of commons management to the fediverse if you wanto to spark a discussion.

nostr:npub1u27r9h3j9pvrplaffsmpn698e8xhmuqhdgcxldv67ammql9pumnqha3qfq Interesting article, but could you be more explicit about how you think those principles should apply to the fediverse? Because from my point of view we are doing a decent job at many of them (with lots of room for improvement, of course)
