I think 100 years might just be too long to live. I had a thought today that we have slowed evolutionary processes down by a factor of 3 by tripling our lifespan in the last 100 years. That’s bad. Really bad. Particularly when you consider the decreasing rates of mortality for heritable disease and dysfunction. At some point we may have to resurrect Spartan premises for humanity to survive.

I have a theory that denying that we are a force for change on the face of the earth is practiced by similar people to those that deny culpability for decisions, consequences, and the permanence of death by adhering to a religious dogma. Admittedly it’s attractive, but provably false.
