TIL about "wrenching”.

The #CitiBike bikeshare program has e-bikes & pedal bikes. E-bikes cost money to use; pedal bikes are free to members.

If a bike station has no pedal bikes available, only e-bikes, you can get a free e-bike ride.

"Wrenching" is pressing the 'wrench' button (marking a bike as broken) on every pedal-bike in the station so you get a free e-bike ride. The 'broken' bikes remain disabled & unusable for everyone until the techs come out to replace them.

People are jerks.

I'm not generally in favor of the death penalty, but I‘d consider it for people who use ad networks to serve fake 'Download' or 'Start’ buttons on download pages, in the hope of tricking users into clicking the wrong button & infecting their machines with #malware.

And I would support savage beatings for the executives of any ad network that enables this. (Looking at you, Doubleclick).

Tip: do NOT run advertising on download pages unless you want your site turned into an attack vector.
