Just opened another channel on my Alby Hub node…because why not? This inbound liquidity should last me a while now. One thing I love using it for is sweeping all of the sats I’ve got sitting in my random custodial Lightning wallets. Feels good to get everything into self custody.

One of my goals for 2025 is to get rid of my dependencies on Glassnode's data and to pull and analyze the HODL wave data directly from my own node. 
It's been 3 whole weeks since bitcoin's made a new all time high. 👴
I build the tables from my node using postgres and then run all of the analyses and make the charts with Python scripts.
It’s mostly because of shitcoinery.
Great news. I just figured out how to speed up this analysis by an order of magnitude so I should be able to fill in that gap in the data (where the dotted lines are) within a week or two at most (instead of it taking months as was originally projected)!

No. There’s limited block space and enough demand for it, that many of these UTXOs will just be abandoned in the future. No way around it.
I wonder at what threshold of utxo bloat would those nodes have noticeable negative impacts in their performance.
Apparently they’re already talking about removing it from core.
How does it make you feel knowing that over half of the current bitcoin UTXOs are worth 1,000 sats or less?

Chugging through the 2015 spam attacks now. Would be interesting to see how many of those smaller 1k - 10k sat UTXOs remain unspent to this day.
