Ok, so first update on my lightning journey.

Last night i started my first lightning channel.

Today I have 4 open already, 2 outbound, 2 inbound.

Two of these were from nostr:npub17tlh448s3tfdfgymehqdkdn52as59qsrax0n9h58pk54wcmqyc2qklzsxj and the other one was from nostr:npub1l0ans4w4psmcv6hsqjz2v3mxszhputlsfn4emkynv3jlwrfez59s35q0ug who were generous and provided me with a 1M sats inbound channel basically for free.

Now, basically my first purchase was the Dare to Dream documentary which I saved to buy it when i was able to begin using lightning in a more sovereign way.

Just finished watching it, and I really liked it, completely recommend it, now I hope to buy Death Athletic next when it comes out.

Well this is a good point tbh, there are a lot of shared values between the users of the protocol.

The thing here is that even if we wanted to discourage it wouldn't be possible at all just by the way it is build, you don't need anyone's permission to create a pair of keys assigning that a name and a picture.

Now that i think of it, how many of those not anon accounts are actually real in the sense they are giving their real names, or even they are not using someone else's identity?

Just read at least to the 50%, and my only thought is that even when 80%+ of accounts are anonymous the general feeling is way better here than on Twitter where sometimes it seems to become a Battle Royale.

Personally here on Nostr the only thing I have found is support, nothing else, and this from other accounts that are anonymous.

I think the main thing here is that here is no incentive to say stupid things, or write for clout in the sense of generating polemic in any way as if the first people don't find you post appealing they won't like or zap you, there is also nothing like a "For you" tab, which means no biased algorithms, the closest thing is the trending filter on Primal where you find the most liked posts which tend to be pretty useful or nice personal posts like pics of food, family, or projects, and the comments are nothing more than "good vibes" or constructive criticism.

In Twitter for one of these pics or posts you get a couple of likes, some troll talking crap about anything on the picture, or basically no one gives a damn about it.

Quick question for nostr:npub1xnf02f60r9v0e5kty33a404dm79zr7z2eepyrk5gsq3m7pwvsz2sazlpr5 or anyone else, when creating the lightning address within the app the nostr npub/nsec can be random there even if I want to tie it to this account? or do I have to use this account's nsec in order for it to work?

Just started my own lightning node for the first time and opened my first channel (it's small).

Will tinker with it as much as I can, personally have always seen mantaining lightning like a headache.

Still I think it's worth to see were this takes me.

Besides just connected this node with nostr:npub1xnf02f60r9v0e5kty33a404dm79zr7z2eepyrk5gsq3m7pwvsz2sazlpr5 as a remote interface and discovered I still ca use the Zeuz Pay feature having my own node, i think this is great!

Also just requested my first incoming channel with the guys of nostr:npub1l0ans4w4psmcv6hsqjz2v3mxszhputlsfn4emkynv3jlwrfez59s35q0ug, will report back!
