This note was inspired by a message received from a nostr friend.

I was in transit, so my reply was short. For that I apologize. If someone takes the time to message me, I take that as a great compliment.....usually.

Having thought on that message a bit and this is what I'd like to add to my initial reply and thought more of us can benefit from it. So making it a note.

This may be some "captain obvious" stuff to some, if so this note is not intended for you.

There is a certain "type" that finds themselves on NOSTR so early on.

Just as there was a certain "type" that was tinkering with VOIP equipment and services early on before VOIP was a thing.

Just as there was a certain "type" that was using the internet really early on, when there was no email or e-commerce.

I can go on and on with these examples and I'm not that old. 😮

This "type" is typically comprised of individuals whom eventually becomes the founders of the largest telecom network in countries.

This "type" becomes the founder of the largest e-commerce and retail sites.

This "type" eventually becomes the founders and builders of the largest social media sites, retail payments sites and so on.

All that to say, nostr is likely not everything you would like it to be today. But you/we are early.

Make it a place that people like you will eventually want to be a part of. Advocate for, support and encourage the developers that build the things that you and your "type" will value when they inevitably arrive on NOSTR.

How I see it.... You/me/we are the rangers, sent ahead of the troops (our friends and families) to observe, understand and eventually figure out how you will conquer this space and set your mark in ways that will benefit them and bring value to the masses.

Keep in open mind.

Be humble (I'm working on this one really hard). We all have something to teach and something to learn.

Rangers are sometimes referred to as trail blazers. Take your pick. But this is your assignment. Whether you want it or not.

Yes. It was. I tend to let those calls go on longer bc they become more scarce in time. A win all around.

Some accounts/individuals are promoting a brand or service. Those don't feel as "corporatieeeee" because those notes are intertwined with personal notes from "the person". Ads don't feel like a slap in the face when mixed in with real life content from a person in this manner. This may be just a me. Thing. My 2 sats.

I hope this note finds you and those important to you in good health and spirits.

Today can be a trigger for some and loaded with emotions for others. For me, it's a mix.

I spoke with mom (and pops) this am. We are managing dementia with mom so never know how those calls will go. But today she was her usual self. So putting today under the "it's a good day" column.

The pooch and I had a pleasant hike. We stuck to the game trails and avoided the main ones to bypass the "weekend occupants" I guess you could say.

On the 7th day, I like to take inventory of the week. I feel pretty good about the to-do list. A week of many firsts. Both exciting and can sometimes expose some insecurities. Both which indicate growth opportunities. So a net good stuff all around if properly assessed.

Make it a kick @ss day friends.

the advertisement model is the first thing that comes to mind

the flow of ideas is so abundent, makes you wish you can bottle it up and save a little for later. literally. trad SM is depleting, nostr is rejuvenating.
