Mask wearing season begins soon again.

Let's see when I can get another shot as well.

Ahhh... I guess it makes sense after all!

Making the iBGP session itself multi-hop is *one* thing, but routing all the other (inter-AS) traffic over the same set of routes is something completely different.

#linux

Apparently, I must run tightvncviewer over an ssh connection/tunnel, otherwise it's "connection refused".

Maybe a server setting...

#bgp #ripe

What do I need an AS-SET for? Why is it needed for peering?

I didn't sleep well tonight, and dreamt of being at a furry con. I had that "unsure what do do and how to approach people" feeling even in the dream. Ugh.

nostr:npub1e3hmsxdyzddzs2kf2dr5qjny5gedkvu2yyd87w47w7ljfhaxs8eqmejxca hm, he has been "on earth" quite a long time, yes. Not sure why this gives him power over so many other beings, though... At the same time, the council hints his power is dwindling / the land he governs is shrinking

nostr:npub1u6c7efaq0l9mqdpr783dat0jydepgzjkmw9qhpa9l4evu5tlzhns5j8emw I just thought it was a legal requirement that the ORG is an actual company.

AAAAAAGGGHHHH!!!

A #DNS domain transfer / AXFR apparently needs port 53 TCP! Not UDP.

https://www.bgp.cat/internet/protocol/border_gateway#tab-preface seems to have some informtion (and offers) related to this

can #openwrt influence which IPv6 address clients prefer? i.e. if I'm getting an IPv6 prefix from both wan6 and a tunnel broker?

(Probably?) cursed idea: Naming machines after furry artists

Random idea: Naming machines after LOTR characters.

I wanna make brownies today.

Ah, it's the line-height...

#dn42 #linux #networking #dns

I'm a bit at loss on how to set up #bind as secondary (authoritative only) DNS server...

I set recursion no; in named.conf.options because I don't want bind to run as recursive DNS server. I.e. it should only reply to queries from my domain.

For whatever reason, deleting zone "." from named.conf.default-zones didn't do this, bind still resolved "plain internet" domains.

However, now a

dig uvok.dn42 SOA @127.0.0.1

gives a warning

WARNING: recursion requested but not available

Aaaaaaaa..... help!

Hmmm...

I could look up which software can run as DNS as a secondary, and set it up

...

Ooooor

...

I simply rsync the #dnsmasq config file to the second server when I make a change...
