This is a follow-up to post I made a while back.
408 nostr relays online (according to nostr watch). Which is really 414 since nostr:npub16fcy8ynknssdv7s487nh4p2h4vr3aun64lpfea45d7h4sts9jheqevshgh is only counted once.
Now imagine if nostr relays also ran a public DNS service with an alternative Top Level Domain (TLD) root? Can make DNS more censorship resistant, decentralized, and leverage nostr to do it. Would think most relays are underutilized and can handle the light load of DNS queries.
I have made a OpenNIC Tier 2 DNS server to abide by their requirements to add a new TLD (.nos? .nostr?) to theit network as a interium option.
#DNS does not log any queries:
172.96.167.214 (ns1.pleb.cloud)
Feel free to test it out and use it. No Google or Cloudflare in your DNS! Will be adding the Tier 1 DNS soon to abide by second requirement.
Next phase is to then implement into #nostr more tightly.

Brilliant idea to utilize nostr relays as DNS servers, further replacing another centralized aspect of our daily internet use
Agora's Discover tab now pulls in what's popular on Mastodon and bridges it to Nostr!
That’s what I like to see! Open protocol on the open internet
Never thought I’d see the day

Here's a list of Nostr clients that are Progressive Web Apps,
meaning you can install them to your home screen and they behave like a
regular app, but with no App/Play Store gatekeeper:
1. Snort: snort.social
2. Agora: agorasocial.app
3. Coracle: app.coracle.social 4. Iris: iris.to

Just deployed a massive change to Snort which i've been working on for about 5 weeks now.
It's called "gossip model", this makes Snort more resistant to censorship by connecting to the relays that your follows use.
This means that Snort will also distribute load across multiple relays instead of always querying your own relay list.
This is better for relays and better for nostr as a whole because it allows small communities to co-exist without the need for shared relay sets or without you needing to add those community specific relays to your relay list!
I also have created an NPM package which will allow anybody to build Nostr apps with Snort's internal nostr code, including the "gossip" model, check it out here https://www.npmjs.com/package/@snort/system
Please be aware that there are NO DOCS, keep an eye out and I should be able to create some example code in the coming weeks!
yessssssss
What about this?:
3.1.5 Cryptocurrencies:
(iii) Exchanges: Apps may facilitate transactions or transmissions of
cryptocurrency on an approved exchange, provided they are offered only
in countries or regions where the app has appropriate licensing and
permissions to provide a cryptocurrency exchange.
The beauty of installable Progressive Web Apps is you get to bypass app stores and their restrictions entirely. Of course it's not as convenient as simply installing a native app from an app store, but still!
