Yes, this is still bad UX.
I wish we had more compact-block-filter-based wallets, those sync only for a few minutes initially. E.g. Ginger wallet works like this.
There are many cases when C-section is justified, and it's great that modern medicine can help in those cases.
But I think most C-sections are unnecessary. And it has drawbacks. For one, it makes start of natural lactation more difficult (lack of strong hormone stimuli in both mom and child, post-surgery difficulties).
Moreover:
There are many cases when hospitalized birth is justified, and it's great that modern medicine can help in those cases, and is available as a backup if needed.
But I think most births can proceed very well in home setting (with the right professional assistance). Better for the mom, better for the child.
Bitcoin is money.
Money is bitcoin.
Let that sink in
Played around with needles&thread with the kids.
I bet this beats the skills of most adults in the western world, sadly.

Today it's using bitcoin vs. using fiat.
In the future everybody will use bitcoin -- it will be about using bitcoin in a sovereign way vs. through an institution.
I lost trust in the science establishment during covid.
I still think that the Scientific Method is the basis of our civilization. But the scientific establishment is a whore to those in power.
hyperbitcoinization > paperbitcoinization
someone pls make a catchy meme out of this
and out of 13 blocks found in the past 7 days (by Ocean), 12 were Datum blocks, meaning block template managed by the miner, and not Ocean!
Bullish
One of the main innovation of bitcoin is that no third party is needed, it's in the whitepaper ๐
Most blocks on Ocean already use already a template managed by the miner and not the pool (using Datum). Bullish.

He's working on a tool to help leaving github
GitHub is giving free test build runs for open source project, they must spend a lot for all those servers running them.
It's free and unmetered and conveniently integrated into the GitHub workflow.
Now nice of them, isn't it? Is it though?
Never underestimate the risk of GitHub (Microsoft) using its massive leverage against some open source projects.

Very inspiring. Sure, doubters can criticize some points, but it is a very emotional, inspiring, logically sound argumentation. Extremely well put.
Two hw wallet names that are easy to mix up:
KeyStone and BitKey (which looks like a stone)
Confession: I mixed up Cove wallet and Cake wallet...
COVE is relatively new, modern, simple mobile wallet (for now for ios but android is coming). Simple UX, but good HW wallet support.
At BtcPrague, at the cake wallet stand I mistakenly thought that it's the same project. I was impressed that such a new project has a nice stand, I even accepted a free tshirt. I've realized later that they are unrelated, the latter is multi-coin wallet.
So COVE is the one I'm excited about, not the other `C??e` :)
#CoveWallet
Ocean's DATUM is a quick'n'dirty hack to a real problem; it's a hack but it works, and one can relatively easily mine his own template in a pool with it.
The Datum Gateway is written in old school C, and it's an unusal feeling that you can clone the repo, configure and build all in less then 30 seconds!
Overall I consider it a positive development, however, in the long run I would put my bet on Stratum v2.
The Nostr tribe people can't agree even with each other ๐
Fortunately open protocols don't need permission
They have been building it for some time and it has different goals and tradeoffs

I'm not saying Nostr could fill the function they strive for, but there are some overlap. Key handling -- Nostr has infra for key storage, signers, etc. 'Home servers' - light server which you can (and should) run yourself for Pubky -- maybe Nostr relay infra could do the same.
The DHT lookup, app logic, that's specific and new.
I'd be more sympathetic if there was some kind of synergy between Nostr & Pubky. Looking from a distance, Nostr also has to do with decentralized web/publishing afterall.
It was a letdown to find that https://bitcointreasuries.net doesn't show you the full list unless you log on with email. What a shitcoin!
Furtunately a 10-minute temp email does the job.
Plus, individual entity pages are show without login, if you have the link.
My first impression is that in 2025 it could naturally reuse some existing Nostr infrastructure instead of creating its own
Carnivore and vegan diet are the opposite extremes, yet they do agree on some principles (I mean here real vegans, not fashion-vegeterians): quality ingredients and minimal processing.
