Yeah its a huge pain in the ass. I try to keep the lock period at 10 minutes and turn off the power button instantly locks device toggle.
Its snappier for sure. Noticeable when running things through tor, etc.

Really miss the fingerprint scanner on the back and headphone jack though.
I moved all apps that needed play services to a separate device.
Realized don't need them on my daily and it stopped me from checking those apps constantly.
Pixel 7 with grapheneOS runs great. I was planning to make the jump either way.
Manual file backup and seedvault still a pain in the ass though. Lol
This is literally what I spent yesterday doing.
Now on grapheneOS with the only casualty being my TG.
