Taking a guess here to test my primitive understanding: How do you tell who has the correct timestamp if relay X sees event A at time M, and relay Y sees event A at time N?

I think the relays can

agree on event ID based on signature. Not sure about the timekeeping piece.

Is timestamp passed by the first relay to see an event (i.e. oldest stamp)?

Heard some (all/most/many) relays do not number events they receive and broadcast. Is that true? Wouldn’t it reduce load on both relays and clients and optimise event search?

Are there some difficulties preventing operators from numbering events in chronological order?

Bridges could be built.

Bluesky is focused atm on purely social media. nostr is a lot broader than that in my view.

So I think they will be competitive and ideas will be copied between both.

Most important thing is we have multiple experiments and ideas all towards same goal, which is taking the balance of power out of centralized corps.

Listening to George Gammon get angry at “Mr Magoo” on Twitter Spaces makes me wonder if people like George will come to nostr.

He doesn’t get trolling, he takes everything personally. So when someone goes from mocking him to making articulate and intelligent points and back to mocking, he can’t differentiate between it and gets stuck on the ad hom part, dismissing the smart bits.

Magoo briefly schooled him on trolling at the end but I think it’s something you either grew up with and understand, or you just don’t. And if you don’t social media wouldn’t be a fun place to be.

I’m starting to wonder if any of the past takedowns of Seymour Hersh have been legitimate. There have been 3-4 since 9/11. The fact I’m getting texts from friends about aliens makes me think he’s not just right about Nordstream, but all of it.
