💯 do this all the time….if interested in engaging (which is typically just with myself anyway) I use nsec/npub login.
I’m just a normie- so forgive the dumbness - but seems like there are a thousand roads to stupid- I don’t understand the point of discovering great content on NOSTR and then clicking on videos produced via YouTube and having to login with my personal information in order to watch- and have You tube back track the watch request to Damus or any other site? What are we doing here? How does this not nullify the point?
The way I see it is You Tube accepts my npub login or YouTube is done- creators should build elsewhere and demonstrate consistency of ethos.
I’m missing something…it’s annoying. I’ll stop talking about it but like I said if you think I’m dumb I’m just reflecting back the road to stupid. Thx for listening

YouTube is inefficient and almost completely inoperable in its current state…one can no longer search the internet and click on a YouTube link and watch a music video, podcast, anything without registering with an email. If I sign in (which is highly unlikely) I am prompted again for the next video I try and watch. I have to submit my email for every single video I try and watch (been happening for last 6 months) perhaps it’s an auto setting on my end (to stay logged out, but I’m not bothering to find out how or what changed, I just stopped watching YouTube for the most part.
Information and the internet is under lockdown - siloed into a few AI chatbot results with everything else under email registration or paywall- to the point where I can’t access my local news without registering and am hard pressed to easily find emergency notifications or information in the region I live. It is the degeneracy of the internet in live time.
