An Internet Archive user named

issung has begun uploading lots of photos of LAN parties from the 1990s and 2000s. Grainy, wired hanging-out goodness!

As part of the 20th anniversary of the BBS Documentary's release, I've ripped the 3 DVDs that were included in the project and have them hosted at Internet Archive. These ISO files can be played in the VLC player like DVDs, and include all bonus features, subtitles, director's commentary, etc.

The all-hands monday meeting at Internet Archive featured Wylie Gustafson, who you may have heard as the Yahoo! yodel.

Kids today don't realize this is how we used to get our memory cards

In 2000, the Beatles created THEBEATLES.COM in relation to a new Beatles compilation album set, "1". For whatever reason, the legendary demoscene group MELON was hired to make flash animations for their songs. The results are now emulated at Internet Archive.

Looking for a nice way to enjoy a taste of computer jiggery-pokery in the 1980s? Come visit the DISKS O'PLENTY collection, 15 Commodore 64 public-domain disks where all you have to do is boot them up and try to remember how to load and play games on a C64. THIS IS WHAT SATURDAY NIGHT WAS MADE FOR.

The entire manuals collection is getting a needed overhaul:

23 SKIDOO

This week I'm going to be twitch-stream fundraising for the Archive. If you don't have the time during the day to attend, then going to https://archive.org/donate and writing "23 SKIDOO: (Amount you're donating)" as a comment in your donation will add towards the totals. You can start today and I'll have it added when we start.

Periodic reminder that the full ISO files for the GET LAMP Documentary are available for free at Internet Archive:

Playing them in VLC gives you the full feature set, including subtitles, commentary, easter eggs, and so on.

Internet Archive is having a power/network issue at one of its datacenters, so we're taking a big ol' nap. People are on it.
