I was having issues starting mine on a smaller $5 VM. Once I upgraded to a bit more storage and speed, it started running. I’m thinking of scaling back down w hopes that it keeps running. Not sure yet.
I feel that’s def still a developer perspective. Most users aren’t aware of algorithms or what feeds them. And i would suspect most users aren’t posting for value or marketing purposes. Their posts are superficial to begin with.
Yep, reposts are greatly beneficial. And zaps are def a monetary exchange of value. However so are ‘likes’…
‘Likes’ are serve multiple purposes. I see a post that I agree with but I don’t want to repost it because the content doesn’t fit the content that I put on my page. And a zap may not be the step I wanna take. But a like… yep. A like lets the poster know that I acknowledge the thought/post/note and kept it moving. The poster is now aware that his post/note was seen and ‘celebrated’. The poster now has a gauge on what their audience gravitates towards or just appreciates.
Sure you can phase them out and users will just not have that option and make adjustments. But to say it doesn’t have an equal value as zaps or reposts is a bit of an under-sight.
Today i’m #onlyzaps tomorrow I may activate the likes again.
Maaan, #onlyzaps is optional. And the use case will def change from user to user. The posts with the objectively odd psychoanalysis of the people who prefer ‘likes’ are weird, as if we can’t see the significance of immediate reactions/responses to post that don’t requires text feedback nor zaps.

I’m in NYC, they say we have the best tap around. I still use a filter.
And recently when I seen an endorsement encouraging residents to drink more tap water, I purchased a new filter. I double filter my tap. Hell, I’m probably drinking more filter elements now which I have a bit more trust for.

Most of my wardrobe is Black and Gray. I have a few green/sage options. But now I’m gonna start throwing in this purple. Possibly for more dressy functions.
