I want to #zap you 2,100 Sats!
Good morning #nostr! It has been about a month since I joined and I'm loving "Self-Soverign Social".
My challenge has been connecting with like minded folks, which is surprising because if we are both here on nostr we likley share at least an interest in decentralization and #bitcoin.
So I want to try a little experiment this morning. I have just under 500,000 sats or about $350 in my nostr:npub1flm9yc3vhc3dj036pn3ysl5xwd4f5gyhyjnn9rzehs5mqe9y9ynq6qrg9q account, I want you to help me empty it!
Please follow me (if you are not already) and share this post and I'll zap you 2,100 sats until I run out or have to leave the office. It's about 8:45AM EDT, and I'll be zappin' until at least 3PM (or until I'm broke).
In theory this should yield about 235 paid engaugements, which will hopefully amplify my presance here and help me connect with some like minded folks.
Lets see how it works out, I'll share my results!

Nice! What about storage requirements and redundancy?
The work nostr:npub1xtscya34g58tk0z605fvr788k263gsu6cy9x0mhnm87echrgufzsevkk5s is doing on nostrdb is remarkable. If every phone is also a relay, using cashu we’ll finally be able to do truly P2P digital payments. nostr:note1stps2a65xz509z2rk7uwchmqeymuapl2u5tx332yqt292wymfrlqjjwphl
I was thinking about this also. I think this would actually make using Nostr truly decentralized. How about energy efficiency if a phone is a relay? ⚡️thx
I think the technology is the Block- or #Timechain, paored with smart cryptography and a lot more well known technologies. #Bitcoin for me is a commodity. At the End of the day, it doesn’t really matter. The value of something is only given by what people think its value is. If something is rare and people want it, it is valuable. No matter what it is. We all need to „take away“ as much bitcoin as we can to overcome inflation and store value and wealth in the long 🏃
As long as you can connect rj45 / patch cable to your WiFi-receiver I guess. If not you’re better off using one or more WiFi repeaters. It is just easier to setup. If you are unhappy with performance decrease the distance between repeaters and buy more of them. As long as there is no patch cable between them it will always only get slower with increasing distance and number of repeaters.
Hmmm … basically you could also just use a so called WiFi Repeater. You see, using a router does not guarantee that you can capture one WiFi and broadcast another. In fact, most of them only allow you to connect via cable to the ext world and then broadcast WiFi. Your WiFi router must at least be able to do so. So maybe you are better off using a simple Repeater. It is cheap, dumb and can also be buggy. Make shure the repeater has a very good connection before repeating!
Agree! Watch out for Asus Routers capable of running MerlinWRT ⚡️thanks 🙌
Depends .. you could still use a good WiFi 6 or 7 Router to maintain a good local network. Asus RT-AX88U - you can setup MerlinWRT on it and profit from Open Source Capabilities. It can replace PiHole while managing all your home network. You can also increase your privacy by using dnscrypto and dns over https. Use Cake QoS to get best Performance.
Depending on your setup you need to deactivate one of the DHCP Servers. Then let your WiFi Router be a DHCP Client and then route all Traffic through that interface where the ext world is connected to. I know this sounds hard for non IT people but this is basically how you do it.
basically connect one Network to another via routing. Then connect to your local WiFi and go 🤙🏽
Yes, no bridging, just routing
Okay … generally Linux is the way to go. You could use a VM. Connect your PCI Card and your WiFi Device to the VM if possible. As a vm you could use OpenWRT. Connect to its web interface (if you managed to setup all devices), setup the connection, setup an ssid with password and you should be fine!
