*And just because it got brought up- There are a ton of other options for hosting your files. Almost all of the clients offer a free upload options. You don't have to pay to host your files, almost all of the clients offer free file hosting by default. The trade off is that you lose control of your files at that point.

Or

You can get a paid nostr.build account (69k sats/year) that lets you manage your files and most clients will upload to your account there.

Or

You could setup your own server and install a void.cat instance or nostrcheck.me

Nostr is all about choice. You choose how you interact with it.

They can, and have, zapped via zapple pay.

They can also set a ⚡ field in their mastodon profile for lighting address and mostr will translate it over so you can zap them.

Dandelion greens also make and excellent pesto.

You don't have to, there are free options, but I think it's better to have control of your files and $0.05 for a gig of storage is more than worth it.
