what was the left vs. right distinction? i don’t think i saw that mentioned
that deserves a follow! 🫂
I think we’re early days so not sure we just pick from what’s on the menu.
Maybe certain clients help showcase/contain/simplify the UX of collections of microapps. Maybe a new open-source “OS-like-layer” emerges that doesn’t feel like a Twitter clone, but feels like something else?
😝 😝 😝
Any projects to note who are attempting to specifically solve p2p bitcoin transactions?

This is an important idea from #[0] and there’s a lot to unpack here

Existing apps/super-apps are run by full stack orgs that have many layers of services bundled together. We often discuss the UI and the database layers, but these orgs have also have policy, customer service, algorithmic discovery, advertising sales and operations, eng infrastructure, accounting/finance, HR teams, etc.
The beauty/magic of nostr is not just that it separates UI from datastore. Those are obviously important. But in separating those the full-stack orgs also get unbundled. The unbundling allows for OSS or layer-specific companies to be built providing solutions which fill consumer/business needs better than any single centralized provider has organizational bandwidth to handle.
Huge net benefit accrues to the consumer who has the freedom to choose which tools serve their needs best!

Substack launches “Notes (but where’s the other stuff?) transmitted by Email”.

i made a video to show how to setup damus and lightning via “wallet of satoshi”. it’s similar with any clients:

a week after returning home from Nostrica i find myself cycling on the central coast of California and i run across this 🤙 💜 🥚

yeah, almost sounds like a meta relay. def great to have lots of different services with diff value props. privacy is a good one 💪
“That core tech for the waitlist got us interested in building Blastr. This serverless relay proxy blasts out your messages to most other relays. We currently get about 25k events per day that we blast out to 300 other relays. Another win for privacy since not all those relays have to tie your pubkey/event to your IP address.”

heck yeah we’ll make it happen next time!
SF or somewhere else around the world? 🌁 🌍
old habits… i guess “.” on a note that starts with an “@“ is not necessary when there is no algo? 😆
.@max is a popcorn maximalist 🍿
pv! 🤙 walnut toast, mascarpone, and jam (to power a big trail run!). coffee coming up next

I hope nostr or something like it can help coordinate messages and incentives for training and operating open source AI models
Georges Harik is making a great contribution toward open source LMs. He was an early Googler who did a lot of the original AdSense work, fwiw.
