To be honest, I had no intention to buy a fixer upper of this extent. The welding and rotten deck I discovered after I purchased the boat. It was a cheap boat, but not that cheap ๐
Respiratory protection is a must when moulding the fibreglass. Solvents are scary!
Other than safety gear itโs just simple tools: felt tip pen, sturdy scissors, beakers for mixing, aluminium roller and brushes.
This is the way, downscaling and stacking. My way will be selling everything but the boat
Last valve and trough hull to be replaced by new composite ones that does not corrode.
This is one of the two biggest onboard Tilde, they are for draining the cockpit and deck.
One less worry.

My whole life. Currently Iโm retrofitting a Dutch steel yacht, so I wonโt sail my own boat at least until spring. But I attend the club regattas now and then.

Iโm sanding away in preparation for new paint.

Sometimes the best you can do is to call in reinforcements. My friend helped me weld in the new metal where I found rust going through the hull.
Surprises like that is always stressful, Iโm just thankful that I discovered the hole before going on the water, and that the sail association have room for Tilde over the summer.
