@brian_trollz That barrier is real. It is the same reason why people often choose perceived safety over freedom in issues outside of Bitcoin, as well.
It often takes something catastrophic occurring to show them that what they perceived as the safe route wasn't really safe after all.

@pray_hodl Exactly. I just haven't been in a position for my sins to cost myself and others billions of dollars. If I was in such a position, I imagine my own sin easily could have had similar results.
It never ceases to amaze me how people who know next to nothing about #Bitcoin can be so certain that it will fail.

@scottmelker Didn’t lose a single sat. I stack directly into self-custody.
I sincerely hope this is due to a flood of people taking custody of their own Bitcoin.

@thecryptoc0up1e Bitcoin is the only reliably scarce digital asset, because no one can change it for their own gain.
Crypto, on the other hand, is full of projects with some dude, or small group of dudes, who can change anything they want on a whim.

@AltcoinDailyio Didn't lose a single sat, because I don't trust exchanges to hold my Bitcoin.
Alright @keet_io, I have keet on my pc. Now what? How do I find rooms to join?

@dergigi @ODELL I second this. I owe more than I can express to you both @ODELL and @dergigi Same goes for many others that got me to self-custody and learn as much as I could about Bitcoin as fast as I possibly could. Looking at you @stephanlivera @TheGuySwann @BTCsessions and more.

@orangepillapp Sign says it can be downloaded on Google Play, but when I follow the QR, the only option is iOS. Also can’t find the app searching on the Play Store.

@CLeyhee @TheGuySwann @stoolpresidente No, you signed paperwork to buy a Ferrari, but the Ferrari never existed and when you came back to pick it up, the dealership had packed up and left an empty lot.

@tatumturnup Not panicking, but grateful I had spare dry powder to buy a few times on the way down.
Dave, you didn’t buy Bitcoin. You bought an IOU to Bitcoin that may or may not exist and actually be redeemable. In short, if you don’t have it in your own custody, you don’t know what you actually own, or if you actually own anything at all. https://t.co/RornbI6kxI

@lopp The thing is, those who know what Bitcoin is will naturally gravitate towards self-custody, and they are the ones who need folks like you building the tools. Those who keep their Bitcoin on exchanges just see it as a way to make more fiat. No conviction.

@knutsvanholm My FOMO kicked in real hard today with that glorious red candle. Sats stacked straight into self-custody. All you leveraged degens can get rekt and hand over the cheap corn.
Thank you FTX for the cheap sats. HFSP
@ThankGodForBTC Another reason might be that they think God has endorsed gold and silver as the only real money we ought to use.
