@HodlTarantula 100%

I don't mine on OCEAN, and probably won't in the near future, but this whole "censorship" nonsense is just dumb.

There's not a single transaction that hasn't been able to be confirmed because OCEAN didn't include it in their SINGLE block that they have found so far.

@SeedSigner It's me. I am one of those entities.

Of course $50 worth a week probably isn't going to trigger any price action. 🤣

@999copperhead @BTCsessions @LawrenceLepard What would it look like if a newly discovered commodity that had all the ideal properties of money went from 0 to the dominant money worldwide? A nice, smooth, gradual rise in purchasing power? No. Volatile as heck until saturation.

@TheGuySwann @JeffBooth This, paired with the fact that people will continue to buy things they want, even if they will be cheaper next year, because of the value of having it now rather than later, is what made me realize just how evil it is to force inflation on us.

@p2pfiat @CashuBTC Not sure if there are any live federated mints yet.

@sovtoshi @AC_616 It certainly seems to be the most ubiquitous of the options, so far. Keep the ⚡ to refer to Lightning, and #4 above to refer to sats.

@AC_616 There's not really any such thing as "Official" in Bitcoin, since there's no one with any authority over the entire thing. That means the market will likely converge on something we all recognize... eventually.

Until then we fight about it.

Yeah, I did the fan upgrade nostr:npub1lrjgpa9m2dl6esdah5pq7m005ymwh4glq4aet76q2zlz2f83esfsa2zvrj recommends in their PDF guide. It made a WORLD of difference. Like, this thing is quieter than my regular heaters now.

When I first turned the thing on and it had the old fans, my wife was like, "It sounds like it's about to take off! That's not how it's going to sound, is it?" 🤣

I use both. They have their place. I agree that self-sovereignty is the ideal, but not always necessary, depending on the use-case and the balance you keep.

Should I be bothered that I have a few thousand sats in my custodial Sovereign Craft wallet, when the vast majority of my Bitcoin is in cold storage, and I have a bit of day-to-day sats on my own lightning node? I don't think so. I am 99% self-custody and I think that is acceptable.

@p2pfiat @CashuBTC Federated trust instead of single entity trust, ideally.

@csuwildcat @callebtc Here's the issue. Even if miners are 100% selecting for fee optimization, that's still THEIR selection. To keep the government from having a leg to stand on, the protocol itself would need to reject blocks that didn't follow a standardized method of selecting txns.

@callebtc I dunno. I have no problem with them having opinions/convictions and acting on them. No one is forcing us to point our hashrate their direction.

@ROWEBOT3339 Bitcoin's value is still in the process of discovery, and hence is still volatile. That volatility has been going down with each cycle so far. Once it reaches market saturation, the value will naturally stabilize.

@ROWEBOT3339 Also, with greater liquidity in the market each cycle, it is harder to push the price around with the same amount of capital going in or out. A $1m purchase is going to have a much higher impact on the price when the market cap is $20m than when it is $1T.
