Nsec bunkers... Bravo 👏🏼

Big thanks to the Amethyst devs for clearly explaining how each of the relay types function /serious

the damus relay now supports NIP-70 protected events:

if you really don't want people syncing your notes to the damus relay, just add a `-` as the first tag.

https://github.com/nostr-protocol/nips/blob/protected-events-tag/70.md

nostril --envelope --content hi --tags '[["-"]]' | nostcat wss://relay.damus.io

["OK","cfd281d9199bfbdfe1b9f19513b8b83211b2b2dbbe58fc80297a52d6d5b846e9",false,"blocked: event marked as protected"]

Awesome, I'm loving this direction

This is such an amazing infographic

Wow. They doxxed nostr:npub180cvv07tjdrrgpa0j7j7tmnyl2yr6yr7l8j4s3evf6u64th6gkwsyjh6w6. Hey Business Insider and Katherine Long. You can go fuck yourself.

Just logged on, Doxxing is Doxxing, privacy is also a personal value that should be respected.

Nostr is here for a reason, lest we forget!

Stay strong nostr:npub180cvv07tjdrrgpa0j7j7tmnyl2yr6yr7l8j4s3evf6u64th6gkwsyjh6w6 ( whoever you are / want to be )

Hey all, I have a super basic web application to present to you which does include a Nostr integration!!!

https://dater.spaceshell.xyz/

This is a minimal day planning application that can either store your weekly plan in local storage or as a note using encrypted arbitrary custom app data ( NIP-78 ).

This is one of the first units of an ecosystem that I woul like to bring to Nostr.

( This is very WIP atm )

nostr:npub1l2vyh47mk2p0qlsku7hg0vn29faehy9hy34ygaclpn66ukqp3afqutajft new bluge-powered search-only eventstore backend for Khatru just dropped: https://github.com/fiatjaf/eventstore/tree/master/bluge

There is no README, no docs. I'll deploy it to custom.fiatjaf.com soon and see if it works and then I'll write that. In my local tests it was good. Not 100% accuracy, but very fast.

The idea is that for queries without "search" you go to the normal backend, for queries with "search" you only use this. And it doesn't store the events twice, only the indexes. The events are fetched from the other database backend based on id results from the search.

Not too sure what this is but I like it 💪🏼.

Could you provide a quick tl;dr 🙏🏼

From the inception of the Ethereum blockchain I've been longing for what Nostr has now become.

Data ownership the only way forwards for the advancement of the internet.

dApps ( of any kind ) are OP.

💪🏼

It's a sad day for privacy and anonymity:

A developer of the Tornado Cash smart contract has been sentenced to 5 years by a Dutch court.

What is the ideal flow for buying on a decentralized exchange?

Ideally...

1. I visit a website. I don't need to download anything.

2. I click BUY or SELL

3. I see some options who to buy from and their asking prices

4. I have a clear understanding of how this thing works. Don't just tell me the payment method, but how that transaction looks like after I hit buy.

5. Sort by payment method

6. Guide me through the transaction or better yet, facilitate it automatically.

What does the dream flow look like?

1. Click buy. You are automatically offered the best deal with your preferred payment method (maybe you specified it earlier).

2. You are provided super simple step by step instructions to finish transaction.

Similar for sell side.

The issue I see with decentralized exchanges:

1. Have to download something

2. The whole thing looks way too complex

3. Not clear how it works

Compare to centralized exchange:

1. Click buy. Done.

See the difference?

I think if we are to improve the UX, we have to think grandma level and start from scratch. No trying to improve a complex trading platform, but really think from the basics. What will grandma need to know or click on and how will she feel about it?

You make it work for grandma. You make it work for everyone.

The issue I see with Bisq (I couldn't install it, got corrupt file) is that it looks like a literal stock trading platform. NOT for an average person. I'd say you have to strip it down to 10% basics to make it work for the average person, provided you do everything else well.

I'm no stranger to tech but to me, Bisq has the most intimidating UX.

A Fiat P2P trading platform with the UX of something like Pancake swap would be a blessing.

♻️

Monero for long term storage swapping over to BTC for purchases and finally a little lightning / cashu for the occasional zaps and a coffee or two.

Serai and Atomic swaps are beginning to make the border crossings quite seemless.

That being said, chainalytics will always be able to trace the BTC to somewhere but by hopping in an out of XMR it could at least make blacklisting your wallets more of a challenge.

The attack on TornadoCash made Mr. Govts' intentions very clear.

Stay safe.

🥷🏼

Could someone please explain how the self hosted Alby works with NWC, I've seen posts here and there but I'm struggling to find any real information on this.

Many thanks

🙏🏼

Does anyone have any thoughts of the Serai P2P exchange?

Code produced by government bodies should be publicly available...

Change my mind.
