I want to take a moment to reflect on why this song has impacted so many people, not only in the United States, but anywhere people feel the excess of government policies and regulations weighing heavily on their lives. People recognize that what Oliver Anthony (Christopher Lunsford) is expressing in “Rich Men North of Richmond” is true. There is very little trust that politicians will actually work to improve the lives of the American people. The abysmal approval ratings of Congress is evidence of this.
