Framed #784 (nope. I watched The Good Neighbor (2016) a film which the critics were, by and large, but not universally, wrong about. It reminded me of Caché, the 2005 Michael Haneke directed film, which it is not anywhere the same as, but was a kind of inverted Caché. The teenage protagonists are convincing enough, which is essential because the plot requires the kind of Ill-thought out conviction which, in fairness to teenagers, isn't solely borne of youth and not just teenagers, but is easier to empathise with than nuttier adults. It is on Prime Video's Freeview. I recommend it. I am far less inflamed and had the first satisfactory night's sleep for at least a week.)

Framed #783 (nope. I remember the 1983 cartoon. Yesterday I watched some more of What We Do In The Shadows, the Night Market, which was a good episode and I think nodded to Nightbreed. Today is voting day for local elections, which are meaningful because local councillors do a lot of work, and generally influence local and regional policy. Usual process of getting elected selling a particur set of policies, then finding out how fiscal and political reality matches once elected, aside. My first election in the UK where I've got to bring some form of photo ID in order to vote, a policy introduced because of a theoretical risk of voter fraud rather than any evidence of voter fraud. We receive a piece of paper card with the election date and a number on it. You used to turn up to the polling station, give them your name, DOB, and address, they tick your number off a list, you vote, and that's it. Now the, albeit paid, volunteers at the electoral station have to check ID, like doormen at a really boring nightclub. I, for one, am grateful that the St John's Ward of Tunbridge Wells, population 7420, local council elections are protected from voter fraud and have extra checks in place because I imagine there was a huge risk of voter fraud. Framed #776 (nope. I watched MasterChef and the last two episodes of Baby Reindeer. I am in moderate to severe acute pain. Moving towards actor as gender neutral make sense because it's the same job, it covers animation, audio, avatars, special effects and video games, and involves less typing. We have vestigial remnants of gendered words in the English languages but cf. French or Spanish. I have slightly more complicated views on singular use of they because it gets confusing with things like "then they stood up" because of the plural, context can be ambiguous in a room full of people, I think it's easier just to use whichever singular pronoun people choose rather than the plural form. All of the actors in Baby Reindeer are excellent actors symbiotically with a good story. I thought it was a far funnier story than many have made it out to be, but much of it was gallows humour and dark ironies. And it's a show with the resolution baked in, because the resolution is the show. There is an element of revenge, but not so much on Martha who is portrayed with sympathy and empathy, despite being awful.)

Framed #774 (lol, no. I have woken up in moderate pain*. I think unprompted. I don't think it is necessarily going to last but it's primarily my shoulders and neck. It's hard explain but it's akin to the feeling of been severely bruised, without visible signs of being severely bruised. That's the auto-immune bit in my case - in a nutshell there is an interplay between immunoglobulin A and T-Cells where they decide there's an infection, when there isn't - in this case where muscles connect to bone. So it inflames like I've got the flu and attempts to add some bone. Vertebrae can fuse. It hurts to lift my arms, shrug and very much so looking left and right. The logical thing to do would be to say "fair enough, I won't look left or right, shrug, or lift my arms too much"; I'm not Italian, I'm not going to lose nuance, but that is nearly the complete opposite of what I'm supposed to do. I'm not supposed to stretch or workout to the point I'm making it worse but I'm supposed to go against instincts, gently stretch and exercise. I have had professional advice. Which I'll have to do. It does help and improve things. It is extremely distracting. Sitting or standing or lying down makes it worse and it just hurts. At this rate I won't be able to moan properly about olive oil prices, gripe about bastardised versions of my cuisine, and form a complicated coalition government. I'm basically alright though. I've had a few decades of this, it can be, and has been, far worse but I'm used to it. It'll pass.)

Framed #773 (yes. I watched two episodes of Baby Raindeer which is excellent and I'd recommend it. Played Scrabble. Made a decent enough pea and aspagus risotto for six with a little chopped fresh mint and lemon balm, there but not overpowering. I used Sainsbury's arborio rice but I prefer carnaroli risotto rice, because while arborio does hold its shape while cooling down it also is capable of absorbing more liquid, so if microwaved excessively from cool arborio can be a bit stodgy. Carnaroli seems a bit more resistant to that and better for leftovers. The weather is like Autumn (<10C, grey, occasional rain) but it doesn't get dark as quickly and I hope it gets warmer. It is not risotto weather. It's nearly soup weather. There are good soups. They are in a minority. The same is basically true of risotto.)
