Opening day at the farmers market. Its too early to plant so I fill up the table and use the time to talk to customers and venders. #farmupdate

I decided to use last year's garden again this year. So, instead of plowing I used the bog disc to dig it up. I tried no till years ago but a field this big combined with New England growing, it doesn't work. #farmupdate

I attached the after market three point hitch to the Farmall C. I double nut the lift arm to allow it to float. #farmupdate

I've had good luck throwing them in after dark. They can't see very well in the dark and they can't count the next morning.
I have not thought that far ahead yet.
I put together a cheap grow center using an old shelf, grow lights and zip ties. #farmupdate

One photo is last year's leaf and grass clippings from a local landscaper. The other is my compost mix from two years ago. If you get the ratio correct, it doesn't smell like it's been through a cow. $5 a bucket, if you bring your own bucket. #farmupdate

This is a Barred Rock warning. It's totally stops laying in the winter no matter how much light you give it. They are just starting to lay eggs again. Lazy bird..

Years ago I would let the chickens out and go to work for the day. Now the bears will take anything left to roam. The best bear proofing I came up with is to wrap the coop with electric fence. Use a spool of insulated wire for power. That allows me to move the coop daily. #farmupdate

Next two seeds to plant, kale and Swiss Chard. Seedapp sends reminders, highly recommend. #farmupdate

I took the snow plow off, it's spring! Weather forecast for this weekend.. snow.

Parsley is the very first seeds to be planted. I use the seedtime app for my schedule. #farmupdate

Time to trim the trees. Apple is straightforward, I'm just not aggressive enough... Not sure how heavy to trim an apricot. #farmupdate

In order to use a welder at work I had to get my hot work permit? what's next, filling out a form in triplicate just to wipe my ass.

Old style brakes had squealers to indicate when it was time for new pads. Cars these days don't. when they make noise you need pads and rotors.

I had to post about engineering. It's in my handle after all.
Coffee and a sterling engine, says it all...
