The chickens are hard at work scratching a new spot for raised beds. And here's a picture of the tractor. #farmupdate

Garden is still growing strong. One of the few weeds to force through the leaf layer is morning glory. The squash is starting to catch up after a slow start and I finally got the electric fence up to keep out the dear. #farmupdate

Source had been verified. I sprout beans in a soil leaf mix to check.
This year I experimented with no plastic or paper mulch. I collected enough leaves from the landscaper to cover the entire garden. The rows are crooked, plants bunched up, no plan just planted. Stay tuned for results. #farmupdate #lazyfarming

Kale eater, parsley thief, defiler of the lawn! New hashtag #toocutetoshoot #farmupdate

Picture of disc stuck in the mud. It's been a very wet spring in the northeast. It wouldn't be farming without something going wrong.

I moved the coop onto fresh grass. In order to keep it a mobile coop I wrapped it with electric fence and hooked up a spool of wire with an alligator clip to the fence. Bear proof. #farmupdate

I try for twice a year. If it gets late in the fall I leave it until spring. As it decomposes it generates heat for the cold winters.
Robin season is here. They tend to nest low in shrubs.

Cleaned the chicken coop. Some jobs get worse the longer you procrastinate. #farmupdate

Some photos of the field after I disc it. I planted two rows of peas and used some of last year's leaves for mulch. #farmupdate
