Regarding wild edibles. A couple of days ago I harvested some Salicornia (in the chenopodiacee/amaranthaee family) that grows just down the street from me. It is a plant that grows in marshy areas near the beach. I made risotto with it. It was edible but not great. Need to refine my recipe and find others. #grownostr #permaculture #wildedibles

I did too. And recently I learned how important they can be in the diet. I put a link in one of my earlier posts about the health benefits.
Here's another image of where it was growing. The wall goes back many centuries.

Still cleaning up photos on my computer, I found this image of an edible plant in Tuscany. It's a caper plant. So amazing how they grow in stone walls. #grownostr #permaculture #tuscany

In cleaning up photos on my computer, found this from a trip to Florence a few years ago. It was the best cup of coffee I had there. Great cafe. Ditta Artigianale. #coffeechain #Florence #Firenze #grownostr

This podcast episode about Wild Food from BBC Radio was really interesting. One thing mentioned was the effect of eating only wild food had on type 2 diabetes.

Here's another. Braise asparagus in a lot of butter. When it's nice and tender, break an egg on top and sprinkle with parmagiano reggiano. Flame should be very low. Cover. Let egg get to over easy doneness. Serve. The over easy egg with the butter will make its own sauce. Very Tasty.
This is for when you get home late at night and too tired to cook. Yet you must eat Right Now. Open a can of sardines and eat up.
Planning to relocate or become an expat? The amount of stuff you have to take with you is not trivial. Especially overseas. Here is a blog post that explains how to digitize all your old media.
https://bespokegenealogy.com/how-to-digitize-old-media-yourself/
Remember, any gear you may need to digitize stuff could either be borrowed from a friend or purchased used on eBay (for example) and then sold on eBay once you have completed the job.

Sigh. Still not working. I thought I had it figured out. Thanks for letting me know. Back to the drawing board.
Something about old trees, isn't there?
When Lambo? Not a good picture, but fun. π #grownostr #bitcoin #Portugal #vintagetractor

Beautiful old carob tree in the Algarve, Portugal. These are great trees. They take care of themselves and grow in a Mediterranean climate without any more water than rainwater. Can be used as fodder. #grownostr #permies #permaculture #Portugal #carob

I tried zapping you and it seemed to work. So that's something at least.
Thanks for letting me know about my wallet. So kind of you. I thought I had it figured out, but no. Back to the drawing board.
I was so surprised the first time I saw how seedlings are sold here. It didn't seem like it would be good but it works out great. So different than the US.
Thanks for the info about the wallet. I thought I had it figured out. Back to the drawing board on that.
Not everyone does things the same way. I went to the garden center yesterday in Portugal and got some lettuce seedlings. The photo show how the come. No pots. They were just put into a small plastic bag. Cost was 8 cents each.

The best souvenirs are the ones you use everyday. Like the coffee can that makes a great canister and the majolica coffee set.
