I think the mints, if they're good, and aligned with the mission, would not keep those logs. So choose a good mint.
Yes, you send them sats over lightning, and they give you ecash tokens of the same value. Goodbye lightning channel liquidity management, and goodbye to 'path not found' failures. (Actually, I'm not clear by what means ecash wallets communicate with mints, but haven't had any network problems yet)
At least these are the two main innovations in my book, even more so than the further enhanced privacy.

Seems like it. They simply mint nuts at current btc exchange rate and redeem ecash at the current btc exchange rate.
I'd like to know if the nuts themselves contain the metadata for what they are to make them all interoperable. Seems like a mint should be able to mint whatever you want and redeem whatever you want whether its eusd or eyen or ecorn.

It doesn't matter where you create an LN address. A QR code is just a machine readable format. You can put any text you like into a qr generator.

Huh, vipsats? No, use Google or duckduckgo, any search engine will give you links to websites where you can paste text and spit out a qr code image for free that you can save.
Just type "qr code generator" into any search engine. Paste in your ln address. There's no risk of sharing or uploading an ln address.
BTW, it super pisses me off that people can't answer this type of question clearly and directly. The thing you've asked for, a simple QR code to allow for easy bitcoin payments, is probably the #1 question of anyone that has learned about self-custody and is now ready to do some business with bitcoin. "How the fuck do I incorporate bitcoin into my business?!" Well I think custodial LN addresses are the simplest way. Self-custodial LN fucking sucks and is impractical for 99.9% of people.
Eventually when the account starts to fill up you can send to on-chain address. You can do this directly from Mutiny Wallet. EASY. FUCKING. PEASY!!
Okay, I just confirmed this: Create an account with getalby.com You'll get an ln address like babeswhobitcoin@getalby.com Now put that into any QR generator and print it out. I just tried this sending from MutinyWallet to my seperate account at Alby and it worked! https://image.nostr.build/ Here, I've even made the QR for you.
