I for one worry this presages a major international diplomatic incident with China that could escalate things to dangerous levels. Although, that's just a worry, and I have no evidence one way or another, other than how this started.

Moral reminder: don't make your company economically-dependent on totalitarian regimes.
I'd argue it's currently within our technological capacity to wipe out most of all animal life on this planet. Sure, life would survive -- in the form of bacteria, fungi, and other microbes. But we really could kill ourselves.
I think it’s okay to have a human-centric morality. But also recognize that a positive future for humanity involves a stable ecosystem in which to live.
