U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has announced the United States’ support of yesterday’s agreement signed between the U.S-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Syrian Government, which will see the integration of Kurdish military and civil institutions in the northeast of the country into the Syria State. Rubio added, “The United States reaffirms its support for a political transition that demonstrates credible, non-sectarian governance as the best path to avoid further conflict.”

Sky News reports that the Captain of the Portuguese-flagged cargo ship, M/V Solong, which collided yesterday with the U.S-flagged petroleum tanker, Stena Immaculate while anchored in the North Sea off the coast of England, is a Russian National along with some of the crew, and has been arrested by British authorities on suspicion of manslaughter. The Stena Immaculate was transporting Jet-A1 fuel for the U.S. Department of Defense when it was t-boned by the Solong, who appears to have made no effort to slow down prior to ramming the Stena.

Almost immediately after today’s Ukrainian announcement of support for a U.S-backed ceasefire in Ukraine, Russia responded by launching a ballistic missile attack against the Ukrainian port city of Odesa on the coast of the Black Sea; launching several “Iskander-M” short-range ballistic missiles equipped with cluster warheads against the city. The attack damaged the Barbados-flagged cargo ship, M/V MJ PINAR, and killed at least 4 crew members, 3 of which were Syrian Nationals.

Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó announced that oil transportation to Hungary had to be suspended following an attack on the infrastructure of the "Druzhba" pipeline.

Calling the attack "unacceptable," he emphasized that Hungary's energy supply is a matter of sovereignty.

In yet another massive deal this week for the Syrian Government and the Middle East, Al-Jazerra reports that representatives of the Suwayda Governorate in Southwestern Syria have agreed today to a deal which will see the full-integration of the Druze-majority region into the Syrian State, following a meeting earlier with Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa. According to the deal, Druze military and other security apparatuses under the Suwayda Military Council will be integrated into the Syrian Ministry of the Interior, while police forces will be composed of local residents; with the Syrian Government having the ability to appoint a Governor as well as a Police Chief who are not required to be from the Suwayda Governorate.
