That doesn’t solve the issue of censorship on fedi, it makes it worse imo. I think it’s better they stay separate.
It doesn’t, and very often leads to a false sense of security, which may be worse.
It’s gonna be a hot take, but I see no intrensic advantage to open source software in functionality, security, or stability. And for 99% of users, it provides no more transparency.
I’m not saying I hate open source or don’t care, but the advantage to FOSS is philosophical, not technological imo.

I totally agree. I know tech ppl like open source stuff, but tbh a lot of it is trash because there’s no financial incentive to maintain or work on it.
I like it too. I still feel the need to be argumentative but that’s just my nature. 😎
It sort of exists already, you can use the mostr.pub relay to see and interact with fedi.
Much longer than that actually, and fedi is objectively worse.
nostr:npub1hg5g87620a3vhpgmna2pzevhj88lkt3lezus76p7u5y37sfcszsszktya9 nostr hits different doesn't it? I feel this weird urge to be civilized.
Yes, I thought about this actually and imo that’s essentially because you aren’t constantly surrounded by corrupt and evil ppl on nostr.
Most ppl stick with what they’re already familiar and comfortable with, especially if it happens to work the best, which is a serious problem with nostr (since clients tend to suck).
I understand the idea, but it doesn’t seem to work out so well in practice. For the average person, whether you can see the code or not is irrelevant.
Just keep making progress, and focus on improving yourself. Whether you’re able to mend things or not, you’ll be in a better position in the end.
Well, remember that nothing lasts forever, and you can start a new chapter in your life. I’m sure it’ll take longer than 4 weeks to move on, but use the time to improve yourself so you’re ready for something new.
Clients censor too, it’s not just relays.
What caused you to change course?
Please elaborate.
Nostr has censorship issues too tbf, but it’s not as insane as the fediverse.
There are no relays, they’re instances with users that communicate with one another. Fedi instances constantly block each other over practically anything at all. The whole network is completely divided and many ppl can’t see each other.
That’s true but open source stuff gets hacked all the time. I get why it’s perceived as better, but thinking it’s safer is a mistake.
