Yeah, it's important for users to run their own node so they can verify that their incoming tx's are valid but it doesn't do much more. The problem will be when only a low number of users are verifying their incoming tx's.
It doesn't make much sense for users to run multiple nodes themselves unless it's for a some sort of high availability solution.

Yes, more nodes are better in general but by running a node you're only helping yourself 🤷

I know, but it's still true in a sense that there's countless of individual entities mining around the globe. Mining operations are not centralized at all!
I'm not saying that everything's perfect and I believe we should focus on to talk about mining pool centralization or ASIC manufacturer centralization, but those are very different topics.
