It sounds like X/twitter is going to be charging for any access to itself. That's probably the end of municipal accounts. Your local village isn't going to pay $11/mo to mirror its Nextdoor / Facebook posts about the water pressure test in your neighborhood or the upcoming election. I'm not expecting a wave of new people coming to Threads or Mastodon, though. If you are cool enough with antisemitism and far-right extremism to still be there, you are probably happy to pay to stay at the Nazi bar.

I mean, what if you go to work, don't like what you do, and when you get home, you just sit in front of the TV and watch dirty jobs reruns? Once you retire, there are only so many episodes of the show.

UWM has a program where once you reach 65, you can audit an unlimited number of classes for free. I don't know how many retired family members I have recommended that to, at this point. I would go through every degree program!
