I’ve chafed from surfing but only when I don’t wear a wetsuit. If patients are chafing while using a wet suit, I don’t know why but they may have more sensitive skin or be using too loose (or maybe too thin) of a wetsuit.

I chafe on my stomach and chest due to sand getting in the wax on my board and then abrasion occurs. I also chafe on my inner thighs because I use them to grip the board when I pivot. The chafing in my thighs is not due to sand but I’m not sure what exactly. It could be the salt in the water, the hair on my legs, or the fiberglass-like material of the board.

Going Metabolic

I went to Iceland earlier this year and learned that is usually only visible during winter months, and becomes less visible further from the Earth’s poles. For “northern lights” to be visible during early autumn much closer to the equator is extremely unlikely and doesn’t make sense to me. I’m not sure what the statistical probability of it is, but it sure is weird to me.

Truth sought.

My mom is at the end of her ~30 year career as a school #psychologist. At the beginning of her career, of the kids she tested (typically around pre-school age), about 5% were diagnosed with #autism. Now, approximately 30 years later, of the kids she tests, about 50% are diagnosed with autism. This 50% diagnosis rate is consistent across the region.

Hey nostr:npub1qqvt0m3nlvjnssmrn33w9yh7cuq2dx5nkz8wxax9hk5hrjdnj4jqz8cn3w I remember you mentioned that you felt bummed that #geoengineering doesn’t have a simple solution, such as how #bitcoin is the solution to #fiat.

Could a potential solution be changing jurisdiction? Or does geoengineering happen pretty much everywhere?

Heyo #kitchenstr and #foodstr, I’m in the market for a new stainless steel pan and spatula. Main priorities are to avoid toxins like aluminum, get a long-lasting product, and relative ease of cleaning. Any recommendations?

First note from the #nostur MacOS client

I don’t remember when I wrote this but it made me smile #nostr

Doing the right thing as an act of rebellion

Logical Fallacies

There are 8.

1. Ad Hominem: attack on one’s character instead of the issue at hand

2. Red herring: shifting the focus by introducing something irrelevant to the issue at hand

3. Straw man: exaggerate or misrepresent the topic at hand to make it easier to refute

4. Slippery slope: claim that if we allow a starting point to happen, then a following sequence of events will definitely occur

5. False dilemma/dichotomy: claim that there are only two options in a scenario, usually two opposite options

6. Hasty generalization: making a statement while considering only a few examples, instead of using more extensive research to back up the claim

7. Appeal to authority: overstate or exaggerates the expertise of an authority figure

8. Begging the question: making a claim based on an assumption, but not providing any evidence of the assumption being true

I try to use nothing on my hair and just let my natural oils do their thing, but when my hair gets dirty, salty, or chlorinated, I use Dr. Bronner’s. I’m still on the lookout for a good, natural conditioner though

If you told me a year ago that I’d be eating grass fed beef liver and raw milk for lunch today, I would’ve called you insane

Seed oil: Just Say No

Just saw a good post on X and wanted to zap it. Bummer.

Started buying eggs from neighbors and family recently. Working on getting them to download Strike so I can pay them in bitcoin.

I’ve been considering Mullvad, but I honestly don’t know much about it. Any tips?
