Because it’s not art, it’s just kitsch garbage.
It is specifically low-brow, degenerate tastes of extremely poor production quality, technique, thought and skill to very poorly mimic real art. This is done specifically to masquerade as a veblen good for people stupid enough to buy this charade and will think they can pass it off again as ‘art’ to other unfortunate souls who may think they are talented enough to to beat the MLM scheme that pretty much all of these are.
Most digital ‘art collectors’ are of too poor of taste, too stupid, or much more likely they are simply degenerate ‘art collectors’ who have found a parasitic niche to pumping and dumping these nauseating JPEGs which obviously and readily insult the very name that is art, and pull it deeper into banality and stupidity that insults the very concept of art.
It’s too bad, as inscriptions provide an extremely powerful tool of communication on top of the most powerful censorship resistant network in the world…and people want to use it for fucking pump and dumps.
It’s fucking gross.
I challenge anyone who calls themselves an artist who is involved with any of this to raise themselves to the challenge of producing real art. So far outside of Project Spartacus and a few select others—I have see no art—just the degenerate degradation of art towards the nihilistic hell these autist wish to shove it into for a few sats.
The only save grace of all of this is that these idiots make it seem so stupidly innocuous and useless they provide cover for the much more radical tooling that I believe will develop in time.
We will just have to wait and see if real artist start using it to produce real art with it—only time will tell. Until then I will continue to cringe in despair and vertigo each time I see this kind of trash.

More and more I am thinking about how wokism is just one prong of a much larger planned attack on all of humanity for total control of all people everywhere, forever. This is why it seems to involve almost everything—food, culture, family, money, economy, technology, language and thought itself. All of it seems to be to induced a kind of personal, communal, and societal weakness that demands a total subservience to the state and its transglobal corporate allies. This produces a crisis which we are told people cannot solve, but only states. This then allows for a new form of technological global communism under CBDCs from which there will be no escape.
There is a reason wokism came up with the COVID lockdowns, why fiscal policy went nuts with COVID, and why COVID ‘started’ in China. It’s seems that this was the beginning of the final stage of the grand scheme to unwind the global political order to transition it from being western dominated to eastern.
Furthermore there seems to be a strong relationship between woke ideology and social media usage in order to expose and expound these principles not through direct experiences, but Pavlovian exposure to such ideas. It is a Maoism form of attack that allows for one to be accused and letting the social media apparatus destroy them simply from those accusations, rather than real institutions of jurisprudence.
It’s seems that the next wave of this attack is modifying history and social context directly using closed-source AI models to change history, “those who control the present control the past, and those who control the past control the future.” This is why 2+2 = 5 under wokism. It is no longer about the relationship to truth anymore, but only towards what we have been told is true. In short, it is the final move of ‘fiat’ (by decree) to liquidate the process, or proof-of-work that must always be in relationship to truth.
Ironically as these sorts of agendas are being pushed, they are snapping a significant portion of the population into a consciousness awakening from the hypnosis of wokism and all of the deranged shit going on.
The powers that be never really expected us to wake up from the deep sleep we have been in for generations, nor did they expect us to expropriate and invert the tools of control they us against us into new weapons of personalize defense. It is both poetic and providential in what it says about humanity in our day and age, and about the coming revolutionary days that will define the next millennium.
Yep, this will be a big part of it, and will likely be how we get a bunch of sub-nostrs that will cater to all kinds of different tastes and people. One big social network doesn’t make much sense unless it’s loosely federated.

One day we will be free from the clutches of corporate influences and government surveillance online. It will be a beautiful world that we built together that will not have the walled gardens of the past, and will be FOSS for all.
We will have to work to understand our algorithms, and to know just how to tweak and work with them to find what we need, but it will be a power that is far and beyond anything other peoples have experienced before. Together we will use these new tools and forms of organizing to create the political structure of the future.
Not for another oscillation in the cycles of revolution that will just create another structure of power and abuse; but to truly free ourselves from it for good. Finally with the power of cryptography we can finally own something through knowledge alone. No long can the force of might and violence overpower any individual who hodls their keys as a sacrosanct, and dignifies it as the gracious power that it truly is.
The world is already well on its way, and with tools like torrents, Bitcoin and Nostr they are already being built. One day when we are free we will look back upon these dark times, and realize how close we were to losing, and how powerful our enemies really were. It will only be in the final struggle when these systems of old implode and collapse upon themselves will we really learn how far reaching they really were, and how much power they really were exercising behind the scenes.
We will win, not because it is written or foretold, but because what we are doing is right.

Honest to god, I scroll through Nostr, and I think to myself,
“Wow, thoughtful unique posts from accounts and people that I care about. I feel good reading through my feed and feel like that was worthwhile.”

This has been my mantra for awhile. Sometimes just acknowledging what you are doing sucks, and you would rather be doing something else, but you won’t, because doing this hard thing is important, is helpful.
