Settle matters quickly with your adversary who is taking you to court. Do it while you are still with him on the way, for he may hand you over to the judge, and the judge may hand you over to the officer, and you may be thrown in prison. Truly I tell you that you will not get out until you have paid the last penny.
Therefore, if you are taking your gift to the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there at the altar. Go and be reconciled to your brother, then come and offer your gift.

Instead, they put it on its stand where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine forth among men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your father in heaven.
But if salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled by men.
Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you for my sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.
