None of that was in my comment. This is you imagining an argument in your head, and projecting it onto me.
My point was simple - the world is struggling to digest the new reality that the US is pulling back from providing cover.
Nothing I said implied Ukraine would stop fighting. Everything I said was to say that is all they can do.
1. He is struggling with the new reality.
He has grown accustomed to expecting people to keep sending him money and arms
2. That reality has changed.
3. He is struggling with that new reality - as is the rest of the world.
That IS the reality. That is objective truth.
There is no lie in there, it is as clear as can be. The US is no longer interested in policing the world ( at least not unless they get something from it. )
Give me one that changes it.
That depends. What do you suggest I could do about it?
It doesn't matter what I want to 'enter in'
The US has been policing the world since WW2. Now it has changed its mind.
It sucks. But your comment proves my point. The world is having a hard time accepting the new reality.
We can either cry about how unfair it is, or adjust.
All the complaining in the world will not change he fact that domestic politics is setting the tone for how engaged the US with the rest of us.
I think the world is having a hard time adjusting to the new reality that the US isn’t interested in policing the world, and Zelensky seems to be one of those struggling to digest the new information.
Whoever Zelensky’s advisor is needs to be sacked too - he went in provocative.
Having said that, I think this also showed the flaws in Trump’s personality. He handled it like a drunk who had his feelings hurt, and just reacted.
No idea how Musk has spun it.
I think I lean the other way on this subject.
China selling is indicative of their internal struggles more than anything else. If they aren’t accumulating Dollars to recycle into Treasuries, then that implies the model is broken for them domestically and globally.
In other words, if they accumulate Dollars, what else can they do with them, and if they don't accumulate them, what has changed?
Bankruptcy for a country that can make up its own paper money ( whether we like it or not ) is also not possible. It may choose not to pay, but can’t be declared bankrupt by anyone who should be taken seriously.
Trump is also so ego driven, a year or so of a slumped market and economy and he will start spending again IMO. He will be faced with a choice ( as gov spending is a component of GDP ) which means accept growing discontent with the outcomes of his policies, or spend big and let the next guy deal with it.
He won't want to be the man who leaves office hated. He will find a reason to spend and claim he has cut waste and fraud ( I think. )
Even if true ( which I don’t know either, ) we can be sure those treasuries will get bought up. If not absorbed by the market, ( others trying to suck up to Trump et al ) then the FED will buy them.
I’m not saying I like it, but the concept of China hurting the US by dumping treasuries never made sense to me.
Furthermore, they need them for collateral when securing Dollars from the Eurodollar market. Nobody will lend them USD for some collateral tied to their overpriced real estate.
( In my humble opinion )
There is a part of me that also acknowledges that the shitcoins are not only inevitable, but also provide some cover.
Like a herd of buffalo escaping a predator - the weakest will get picked off.
Granted the cons outweigh the pros, but if they are here, we can at least keep moving while the sick get picked off.
And/or the Dems?

It dawned on me recently that I am getting old.
I don't feel it, and neither my body nor mind are not letting me down, but while talking to people I work with, it became apparent that most of them cannot remember a time before the mobile phone, or Google.
The idea of life without was alien to them - how would they do X or Y etc.
My only reply was to say "you didn't do that back then" lol.
Life used to be simpler. Today we fill our lives with complexity - sometimes for the sake of it - which invariably means entangling yourself more in tech.
Now project that out into the future....🤯
I'm not convinced we are at peak complexity.
I think I have two stones in my scrotum....
Now do 'comb' 🤣
I've never used face or fingerprint for access.
I know it is futile, as I have pushed those same buttons many times with my fingers, and have multiple photos with me in them, but something about voluntarily using my face or fingerprint when other options exist feels wrong.
I’m just a pin guy, I guess lol. 😂
This is why you need to stay solvent.
People will hate to hear it, but forced selling destroys you.
It is always the worst time to sell.
I fully understand the logic of the single dude/dudette that is all in, or even living on a bitcoin standard. I really do, but as the man with a family, home, and fiat orientated commitments, I do need som flexibility in the form of a fiat pot.
The longer time passes, the propensity to need that fiat pot will diminish, but today, right now, without it I too could be forced to sell at the worst of worst times.
Maybe it is stubbornness too. It’s almost unthinkable to be forced to sell bitcoin lol. ( It would feel like a personal failure where ‘somebody’ did get my coin )
Part of me wonders who TF his advisor is that told him to walk into a room with Trump, and try and play Bobby Big bollocks?
It’s like walking into a bar and gobbing off at the man who gets punchy after a pint of Stella, and not expecting to get slapped.
Sure, you can have everyone console you after the fact, and sure everyone knows it got a bit out of hand and was taken too far, but they also know you knew that before walking in there lol.
