I've used Hotwire with Rails before. You just get shit done so fast. I've never felt like that with React. And I know a lot of people don't.
I think heavy JS framework web apps are overkill for almost everything except e.g. Google Sheets style interactivity apps.
If you use a simple web stack with no React it'll be harder hiring developers.
But you'll also need way fewer developers.
I want to implement my next hobby project in Go with the standard library HTML templating plus HTMX for that little extra interactivity. It's sounds like a delightfully simple stack.
React is overkill for 95% of the apps that it has been used for. It's probably generated more unnecessary consulting dollars than microservices.
Very interesting stuff. I wonder what the web experience will be like.
RubyMine is like an extension of my body. Tried VS Code for a while, but why bother? Combine it with GitHub Copilot and I feel like I'm flying again.
