Just think of what will happen ON THOSE PLATFORMS that now have to COMPETE with the new reality that NOSTR created. Now THEY have to bend the knee, or risk becoming irrelevant even faster.
Not only does nostr offer an escape valve, it also should add more freedom to Web 2.0 as a side effect.
Governments aren’t going to imprison all of their tax cattle, the ones that start will see some serious jurisdictional arbitrage. France isn’t likely to get any tech startups in the next few decades. I wonder how much money and legitimacy that arresting Durov cost the regime?

One of my biggest "aha!" moments was realizing that #Nostr isn't just another social media platform.

But then, when I imported my private key into nostr:npub1w0rthyjyp2f5gful0gm2500pwyxfrx93a85289xdz0sd6hyef33sh2cu4x and nostr:npub18m76awca3y37hkvuneavuw6pjj4525fw90necxmadrvjg0sdy6qsngq955 and saw my profile magically appear, it all clicked!
In that moment, I understood—Nostr wasn't just a platform; it was something much bigger. Gosh the hours I spent on LinkedIn / IG / Facebook to create a profile and Bio all over again 😂🫣
Sometimes you just have to dive in and experience it to really get it! Grateful for this patent community here who showed me step by step 🙏🤣💪🏻

I think the foundation of understanding #bitcoin is understanding WHAT MONEY IS. Most people are certain that they know what money is, but they don’t.
For me, that book was The Bitcoin Standard. That’s how the book starts. Only then does Ammous discus how Bitcoin works, and why it obsoletes all other money.
