My students and I are partnering with Major League Hacking (MLH) to put together an in-person STEM event at our school for junior and senior high school students.
Creating an atmosphere of building with technology while learning something new.
Beyond setting up honeypots to watch some malicious tactics, modding some game consoles, and introducing them to code, we will have a session introducing the Bitcoin lightning network and nostr.
Anything interesting I should share with them?
nostr:npub18ams6ewn5aj2n3wt2qawzglx9mr4nzksxhvrdc4gzrecw7n5tvjqctp424 - if you weren’t at #nostrville I would have asked you to run the nostr class!
Damus users - running 1.4.2 (2) on updated iOS, but can’t seem to update to go #onlyzaps. Am I missing something?
post secondary - most just out of high school.
You could seriously stop by my class sometime. I think my JavaScript class is going to be forking #[3] code next week to see how nostream runs. Funny thing is - I mentioned the other day in class that we should check out web sockets.
Introduced nostr yesterday in my tech class! Got them lightning wallets and loaded them up to beam around sats. Then setup our own school nostr relay and will get them on nostr next week. For midterm, I think they should setup their own relay - best way to learn tech I think.
