I have tried many things.
* E-ink pads are not the answer. Kids need a printer for school.
* Laser printers are the only solution.
* Never ever ever ever ever ever move to inkjet.
* When selecting a printer, go for the highest capacity cartridges.
* $500 to $1000 is not unreasonable for a good printer.
* Learn how to diagnose and repair them, between YouTube and AI, there is no reason you should have to replace it.
* Don't put anything other than sheet paper in them.
* If you must do envelopes, RTFM! If you don't flip the right lever somewhere in the back, you will ruin the fuser assembly (how would I know that?)
* if it ges jammed, don't pull on the paper! You need to release pressure on the rollers before removing a jam.
* I switched from Canon, HP & Epson to Brother and haven't been disappointed. Your mileage may vary.
* If it misbehaves in the first month, return it and get a different design. Laser printers should be reliable.

I've personally spoken to quite a few soldiers at different units (units have fundraising and recruiting booths at basically every big event in Ukraine), and they all say the same thing: a remarkably high percentage of their drone funding comes from private donations. A big problem is Western military aid tends to be tied to specific weapons systems β not money β so the overall resources can't be spent optimally.
Of course, it's not like the war itself costs $911/Russian casualty β there's lots of other costs and investment necessary to get there. But the fact that units are still short on drones even though relatively little investment would fix this is absurd.
Also, I don't keep track. But I wouldn't be surprised if just my personal donations β anonymously with Bitcoin β have resulted in the deaths of a few Russians. You can easily make a difference.

The current follow problem that I have can be solved client-side; where one can see whether the follow is reciprocal (why doesent Amethyst have this?) and how long since that person has been "active." (e.g. likes, zaps, profile updates, posts, replies, etc.) Then it should be trivial to unfollow dead accounts and the follow-list is more meaningful.
The public aspect of follows has a wot side-effect, which is also a primary feature. When I'm searching for a profile, I look to see if anyone I "trust" is also following that profile. When people demonstrate they are either worthless or spammy, they tend to get pruned from most lists. The WoT score based on follow, activity & reciprocity has more power than it regarded to.
What a follow-based WoT means in the context of social media is whether the followed identity is likely to be authentic and of information-value, not necessarily whether you agree with that identity. (I follow nostr:nprofile1qqsx3tq0ylq9g5mha3h8ch8x4gkka792rmddc65v9law3mdq0un2llqpz4mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujumt0wd68ytnsw43qcev0zp for god's sake)

What you are describing is personal feed curation, and many intend this to be public. To separate the WoT feature from the follow feature is an interesting idea, but also likely to never be useful due to lack of use. Normally people have no idea whether a person they are following is a real person, or even an honest person. In that regard, a "trust" button would never EVER be used. The purpose of a follow-backed WoT is not to endorse, it's so others can see what you want to see, regardless if you "endorse" them or not.
