Overheard: “he’s like a hungry hungry hippo but he smokes crack… and beats off”

I am noticing a lot of documentary style YouTube videos that are being created / generated with AI. This whole AI thing* is starting to creep me out. If all this content is being generated so easily with AI then why would it be strange to believe that other parts of my non-tech reality are* also generated by AI.

Wow shit. I don’t read any news

much nowadays so it’s been a while since I looked at the InfoSec news.

I just have one question: Is this fucking citrix shit for real?

Holy fuck. Who know how much shit got hacked or set to go off on new years even or whatever crazy shit you can think of.

I don’t practice in the infosec field but I did software engineering for decades and i do indeed know a ton about imfosec and could do it if i wanted to. But this could be like some huge hacking going on lately… wow this could be the yet to be incoming worst series of hacks and breaches that you or i or anyone has ever seen.

Nostr - part 3…

Its not just me trying to criticize something new like Nostr. It’s definitely taking many steps forward in the right direction. I’m simply an infosec / security minded person and I always have questions like this with any systems. My comments are not meant as an insult to Nostr

I need to read more about Nostr and test some of my theories…

It claims to be censorship resistant. But it seems like to me someone could modify relay source code to incorporate censorship. Don’t get me wrong i like it and it’s great but i wonder exactly what measures are in place to block bad or suspicious relays. Is simple trust through a relay whitelist enough to stop a potential problem?

I came to a realization a few years ago…

God is not sadistic. It is the world we live in that is sadistic.

Well, it’s official. Way too many companies are now referring to general automation as “AI”

Someone needs to name this phenomena and catalog the known instances in our world…

Here is an example that i noticed today: Anne Milgram is the administrator of the DEA

Obviously it’s not literally “milligram” in her name but the fact that her name is so close makes me think that we are in a simulation

US politics amounts to arguing about coke or pepsi. If you do not realize that then you are a child.

“GraphQL” is the buzzword of the day today

We were promised hover boards in the future. I believe this is one of the most important issues we need to correct that is facing our world today. #hoverboardsmatter #hbm

The world has changed quite a bit over the past few decades. I haven’t changed so much really in comparison. I have started avoiding society in recent years because I finally realized that I don’t like the train wreck that our modern society has morphed into.

Why are standard water bottles 16.9 oz volume?

Because 16.9 fl oz is equivalent to 500mL, or 0.5L.

Interesting to think how AI will evolve at a worldwide scope. The more I think about it I am thinking that access to AI will have to be divided by nation so that a country with AI is not inadvertently helping other adversarial countries. In other words, it seems to me that it would be a conflict of interest for the US to allow adversaries like Russia to take advantage of AI created by US based organizations. As I think about the future of AI more it really is quite a can of worms that is just starting to open up within our lifetime. So many motives like from a national security or political chessboard context to consider. I am normally not a fan of needless regulation but am definitely in favor of creating a US national AI council that can work to pinpoint the most important areas where upcoming AI developments will start impacting the world. The security implications are massively scary if you think about an autonomous super intelligence that is trained to breach security, collect information, or spy on people or corporations or governments. It may be the biggest ethical Dilemma this world has ever faced. I feel like a lot of people in our world are not quite thinking through the many ways that AI could be used or misused to achieve an advantage over some sort of arbitrary opponents especially in situations where the level of competition is so high that the AI could be intentionally used to break the law, look for loopholes, straight up cheat our systems, or thwart laws. The more I think about it the more scary stuff my mind starts considering.
